Cynthia Anderson

Growing up on a farm in southern Minnesota has given me the inspiration for my work. The natural outdoor setting led me to explore and through that exploration I was able to develop my creative expression. Many of my pieces incorporate objects, which were previously used and diminished, castaways of a different time, and through my art, I hope to give them a new life. I have always enjoyed the process of creating something out of nothing and hope my work inspires viewers to look at the ordinary in new ways – to see the rare beauty that can be found in the objects around them. I am drawn to steel, stone and kiln-formed glass as my main mediums but I am comfortable in other mediums as well and incorporate them into my work when inspired to. 

My studio is set up to accommodate both the design and production of my kiln-formed glass and steel sculptures. It is located approximately 8 miles from my home, just outside of Chaska, MN, where I reside with my husband and dog.

I exhibit throughout the United States, and welcome corporate and private commission work by appointment.
