Growing up on a farm in southern Minnesota has given me the inspiration for my work. The natural outdoor setting led me to explore and through that exploration I was able to develop my creative expression. Many of my pieces incorporate objects, which were previously used and diminished, castaways of a different time, and giving them a new life. I have always enjoyed the process of creating something out of nothing and hope my work inspires viewers to look at the ordinary in new ways and to see the rare beauty that can be found in the objects around them. I am drawn to steel, stone and kiln formed glass as my main mediums but am comfortable in many and incorporate them into my work as needed.
My studio is set up to accommodate both the design and production of my kiln formed glass and steel sculptures. It is located approximately 8 miles from my home, just outside of Chaska, MN, where I reside with my husband and dog.
